Portrait of Martin Lachmair

Member of the media development department

Since July 2013 Martin Lachmair has been a researcher and media developer at the IWM in the media development department headed by Dr. Uwe Oestermeier and in the Multimodal interaction lab headed by Prof. Dr. Peter Gerjets. His scientific interest is at the interface between cognitive processes and the use of modern media, especially virtual and mixed reality, involving (physical) multimodal interaction. From 1999 to 2003 and from 2006 to 2009 he studied computer science at the Universities of Stuttgart and Tübingen. From 2003 to 2006 he was employed as a system developer at EMS-Chemie AG, Domat / Ems, Switzerland. In July 2013 he successfully completed his PhD under Prof. Dr. Barbara Kaup (Cognition and Language) at the Psychological Institute of the University of Tübingen. During his PhD, he also worked in the infrastructure project of the SFB 833 of the University of Tübingen.

Martin Lachmair is a member of the IWM postdoc-network "Cognitive Conflicts During Media Use".
