Hauke Meyerhoff ist seit März 2014 wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter der Arbeitsgruppe Realitätsnahe Darstellungen. Er arbeitet seit Juni 2010 am IWM und war zunächst als Doktorand tätig. In seiner Forschung beschäftigt er sich mit Wahrnehmungs-, Aufmerksamkeits- und Gedächtnisprozessen, die es Menschen ermöglichen, dynamische und/oder multimodale Informationen zu verarbeiten und zu interpretieren. Sein Forschungsgebiet umfasst auch Forschungsfragen danach, wie dynamische und multimodale Repräsentationen (z.B. Videos) gestaltet werden können, um den Lernerfolg zu optimieren. Darüber hinaus beschäftigt sich Hauke Meyerhoff mit Fragestellungen, die die kurz- und langfristigen Auswirkungen der Nutzung mobiler Geräte (z.B. Smartphones) auf kognitive Prozesse adressieren.
Hauke Meyerhoff promovierte an der Universität Tübingen und am IWM. In seiner Promotion beschäftigte er sich mit der Rolle von Aufmerksamkeitsprozessen bei der Wahrnehmung dynamischer Szenen. Seine Dissertation wurde mit dem Promotionspreis der Leibniz-Gemeinschaft ausgezeichnet. Hauke Meyerhoff ist in mehrere internationale und nationale Forschungskooperationen eingebunden, die sich mit modalitätsübergreifender Verarbeitung dynamischer Informationen befassen. Im Rahmen dieser Kooperationen absolvierte er Gastaufenthalte an der Yale University (Perception & Cognition Lab) und der Northwestern University (Visual Thinking Lab).
