Prof. Dr. Korbinian Moeller

Leiter der Nachwuchsgruppe Neuro-kognitive Plastizität

Seit Dezember 2012 ist Korbinian Moeller Leiter der Nachwuchsgruppe Neuro-kognitive Plastizität und Lernen am IWM und W2-Professor für angewandte Lern- und Wissenspsychologie an der Eberhard-Karls Universität Tübingen. Sein Forschungsschwerpunkt liegt auf der Untersuchung der kognitiven und neuronalen Grundlagen numerischer Fertigkeiten unter Verwendung neuro-kognitiver Forschungsmethoden (zum Beispiel fMRT/DTI, künstliche neuronale Netzwerkmodellierung) und der Einbeziehung neuro-funktionaler Modelle. Sein besonderes Interesse gilt der Untersuchung der Entwicklung bzw. des Erlernens numerischer Kompetenzen und damit verbundener Veränderungen sowohl auf kognitiver als auch auf neuronaler Ebene. Sein Forschungsansatz ist dabei von der Idee geleitet, dass basisnumerische Kompetenzen als Grundlage für die Entwicklung späterer numerischer wie auch arithmetischer Leistungen dienen und deshalb besonderer Beachtung und Förderung bedürfen.
Korbinian Moeller hat zahlreiche Projekte zum Erwerb numerischer Kompetenzen durchgeführt (u.a. gefördert von DFG, BMBF). Er ist Mitglied der DFG-Forschergruppe Analyse und Förderung effektiver Lehr-Lernprozesse (FOR738) und Principal Investigator in der der LEAD-Graduiertenschule (Learning, Educational Achievement, and Life Course Development; Graduate School GSC 1028), die im Rahmen der Exzellenzinitiative gefördert wird.

Korbinian Moeller studierte Psychologie an der RWTH Aachen (Diplom 2006) und der University of Dundee, Schottland (M.Sc. 2006). Anschließend promovierte er zuerst an der Paris-Lodron Universität in Salzburg (bis 2008) und danach an der Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen (Promotion 2010).
