Dr. Juliane Richter

Member of the Multiple Representations Lab

Juliane Richter has been a research associate at the IWM in the Multiple Representations Lab since June 2013. In January 2017 she finished her PhD and now works as a postdoc in this lab. Moreover, she coordinates the Tübingen Digital Teaching Lab (TüDiLab) located at the IWM. Juliane Richter is involved in a research project funded by the German Research Foundation, which aims at developing an evidence-based digital and interactive textbook for introductory chemistry education – the eChemBook. Moreover, she investigates various research questions related to the field of teaching and learning with digital media in schools and universities. Juliane Richter is an associated postdoc at the LEAD Graduate School and Research Network (Learning, Educational Achievement, and Life Course Development) at the University of Tübingen. In 2016 she received the Jason Albrecht Outstanding Young Scientist Award from the Society for Text and Discourse and the Junior Researcher Award from the EARLI Special Interest Group 2.

Juliane Richter received her Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems at the Berlin School of Economics and Law in 2008. In 2010, she started to study in the master’s program Human Factors at the Berlin Institute of Technology, where she graduated in 2012 (M.Sc.). She has also several years of professional experience in usability engineering. From 2012 to 2013, she was a research associate with teaching assignments at the University of Tübingen in the Human-Computer-Interaction department.


Juliane Richter is a member of the IWM postdoc network "Cognitive Conflicts During Media Use".
