Julia Moritz

Member of the Realistic Depictions Lab

Since June 2014, Julia Moritz has been working as a research assistant at the IWM in the Realistic Depictions Lab (head: Prof. Dr. Stephan Schwan). As part of the project "Experiencing biodiversity - How nature research benefits from interactive web maps on your own doorstep", she conducts research on the understanding of complex spatial information as a function of its representation. In her dissertation she examines the influence of design and interaction alternatives of digital information graphics and maps on information transfer. In the former project "Democratization of Expert Knowledge" she investigated the processing of digital maps by non-professional users. Previously, she worked as a student assistant at the IWM from 2012 to 2013, where she conducted experiments on learning with 3D representations.

Julia Moritz holds a diploma degree in psychology (2014) from the University of Tübingen. During her studies, she focused on media and educational psychology as well as organizational psychology. After completing an internship in the user experience department at Robert Bosch GmbH, Julia continued working on user centered product development at Bosch, the University of Tübingen and Do UX GmbH.
