Dr. Birgit Brucker

Member of the Multimodal Interaction Lab

Birgit Brucker has been working as a research scientist at the IWM in the Multimodal Interaction Lab of Prof. Dr. Gerjets since October 2007. One of her research interests is the use of static and dynamic visualizations to support the understanding in scientific domains and for movement patterns and the role that the mirror neuron system plays during these processes. Moreover, she is engaged in the development and the use of innovative interactive displays (such as multi touch tables) and the influence of hand proximity between users' hands and the depicted information on information processing. In April 2012 she finished her PhD.

Birgit Brucker studied psychology at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen (Diploma 2007) with a focus on educational and media psychology as well as industrial and organizational psychology. During her studies she worked as a student assistant at the IWM and at the Psychological Institute of the University of Tübingen at the department of Applied Cognitive and Media Psychology. Additionally, she worked as an intern at Daimler AG, Stuttgart, Research and Technology/"HMI concepts and systems"/"HMI concepts and evaluation".
