Several follow-up projects aim at building on the knowledge gained so far:
At the IWM, a competence center for research on informal learning was established. Within this context, a cooperation of the IWM and
Haus der Geschichte Baden-Württembergs was taken up to further examine preconditions, processes and outcomes of learning in museums.
Another follow-up project is promoted by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research
(BMBF) which examines the generation and transformation of cultural knowledge in cooperation with the
University of Tuebingen and the
Deutsches Literaturarchiv Marbach.
Within the context of a priority program of the German Research Foundation, the IWM examines the understanding of fragile and conflicting scientific evidence
(DFG-Schwerpunktprogramm "Wissenschaft und Öffentlichkeit: Das Verständnis fragiler und konfligierender wissenschaftlicher Evidenz"). For this research project, the cooperation with the Deutsches Museum, Munich, is continued.
