Administrative Director
Dr. Robert Polgar
Since July 2020, Robert Polgar has been administrative director of the foundation "Medien in der Bildung" [Media in Education] and head of administration of the IWM. As administrative director, he is responsible for the overall management of the Foundation and the IWM, together with the director Ulrike Cress and deputy executive director and board member Stephan Schwan. Since fall 2019, he has also been deputy spokesman of the Leibniz Association's administrative committee.
Robert Polgar studied business administration at the FU Berlin (diploma 1995). In 2004, he received his doctorate from the Medical Faculty of the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg on the topic of "Revenue and cost aspects of blood component consumption in a maximum care hospital".
From 1999 to 2010, Robert Polgar worked as a consultant to the board of directors at the University Hospital Erlangen and moved to Halle/Saale in 2010 for a position as hospital director and managing director. From 2012 to 2014, he was the administrative director of an acute care clinic in Karlsruhe, before taking over the commercial management at the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories in Bamberg for six years in July 2014.
