The Leibniz-Institut für Wissensmedien is one of 96 research institutions within the German Leibniz Association. Since 2017, Prof. Dr. Ulrike Cress has been the Executive Director of the IWM. She is supported by a scientific council that comprises the principal research scientists of the IWM and the head of administration. The scientific council identifies the medium-term research and development strategy as well as current projects and activities.
