Modern research thrives on international collaboration. These partnerships are essential to our mission of turning high-quality research into evidence- based expertise that has a positive influence on society.
Global cooperation initiatives not only broaden individual perspectives, but also contribute to faculty development and amplify the impact of our research.
Our researchers are active participants in international conferences and events, and we encourage collaborative exchanges both for IWM staff going abroad and for international scientists visiting IWM.
We look forward to invigorating our research with fresh perspectives rooted in diverse research traditions.
The Leibniz-Institut für Wissensmedien (IWM) is one of the leading international research institutes in the field of knowledge-related use of digital media. International networking and exchange with leading global experts is central to our researchers and their research projects. The IWM therefore offers numerous cooperation opportunities for national and international guest researchers, some of which can also be funded.
Are you an expert in a relevant field of research at the IWM? As a research professor, you will have the opportunity to discuss research and publication strategies with our scientists, co-supervise IWM doctoral students and contribute to ongoing research projects. You will help to further develop the research network at the IWM and will also be involved in the organization of joint workshops or conferences, for instance.
As a Research Affiliate, you have research expertise in an area of our research agenda. You will work together with IWM researchers on projects for at least one month, visit the institute for this purpose and publish articles in co-authorship with our researchers. You will also have the opportunity to work with other Research Affiliates and exchange ideas about your respective research projects.
As a guest researcher, we invite you to visit the institute for two to five consecutive days to present your current research work to the IWM scientists and engage in joint discussions. The aim is to pave the way for potential joint research projects and enable the co-supervision of doctorates.
Our institute welcomes visiting scientists for short research stays of at least one month. During your time here, you have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in one of our labs, work on projects relevant to your field of study, and strengthen your professional networks. This initiative fosters collaboration and knowledge exchange, enriching both the visiting researchers and our academic community.
Are you a postdoctoral researcher with a strong interest in one of the research topics of our working and junior research groups? The IWM hosts postdoctoral fellows with a Marie Curie Individual Fellowship as part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA). The MSCA individual fellowships offer attractive funding opportunities for postdoctoral projects in Europe.
No problem. If you have an innovative collaboration idea, we are all ears. Reach out to us and let's explore how we can work together.
