Member of the Multimodal Interaction Lab
Since September 2013, Sergio Cervera Torres has been a PhD candidate in the Multimodal Interaction lab at the IWM. His research mainly focuses on potential emotional and cognitive effects in digital environments. Specifically, his interests are to explore, from an embodied perspective, the influence of multi touch interfaces (MTIs) interactions with visual information (e.g., emotional pictures) through body manipulations (e.g., arm gestures) associated to relevant spatial dimensions (e.g., sagital or vertical). In 2014 he became an associated PhD candidate member at the LEAD (Learning, Educational Achievement and Life Course Development) graduate school.
In 2003, Sergio Cervera Torres graduated from the University of Valencia (Spain) with a diploma in Psychology. From 2004 to 2010 he worked in the area of group organization, communication and enhanced learning environments with children and handicapped people. From 2011 to 2013 he joined the Psychology and Technology Lab (LABPSITEC) at the University of Valencia during his Master on Advanced Clinical and Health Psychology. His thesis focused on the interaction of information and communication technologies (ICTs) with emotional regulation processes.
