Member of the Everyday Media Lab
Since July 2019, Franziska Gaiser has been working as a research assistant and PhD student at the IWM in the Everyday Media lab (Junior Research Group Social Media until March 2022).
As part of the joint project "digilog@bw - Digitalisation in Dialogue" she is working on AI-supported voice assistants as a source of information. She investigates how people use these technologies in their everyday lives and how the regular use of voice technologies affects the extent to which information is searched, the evaluation or trust in sources and the importance of voice assistants in the transmission of information and news. In her master thesis she also dealt with smart speakers and investigated the adoption of these devices into domestic environments and their integration into everyday life.
Franziska Gaiser studied Media Sciences and German Studies at the University of Tübingen and Communication Science and Media Research at the University of Hohenheim (M.A. 2018). During her studies she worked in the field of program monitoring and online market research.
