Nico Ehrhardt
Member of the Everyday Media Lab
Nico Ehrhardt started working in the Everyday Media lab at the IWM on June 1, 2023. In his role as a research associate, he investigates how motivational biases impact perceived fairness in AI decision-making within the DFG project "Egocentric Biases Meet Biased Algorithms".
In his PhD thesis, Nico aims to understand trust perception in AI expert systems designed to replace human professionals. He combines a theoretical framework with empirical assessments to enhance our understanding of factors shaping individuals' acceptance and use of these systems.
Nico Ehrhardt studied Molecular Biology at FAU in Erlangen and Cognitive Neuroscience in Marburg. After graduating, he spent 14 months as a research associate at the Center of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the University of Zurich, where he helped to design an fMRI-based movie task paradigm to study multisensory integration in children with developmental language disorders. During his studies, Nico also served as a tutor and student advisor.
