Workgroup | e-teaching.org |
Duration | 09/2018 - 08/2023 |
Funding | BMBF |
Project description
The design and use of technology, as well as the promotion of knowledge about teaching with technology, are central fields of action in education. For this purpose, the meta-project "Digi-EBF" (Digitalisation in the Fields of Education) supports research projects of the BMBF funding line for “Digitalisation in the Fields of Education” in the framework program “Empirical Educational Research”.
The sub-project at the IWM focuses on teacher education. Teacher educators play a key role in preparing pre-service teachers to integrate technology in education. Pre-service teachers should not only experience the use of technology but also acquire the necessary skills to be able to use them in the classroom. To support teacher educators, (1) the e-teaching.org portal will be specifically expanded. For this purpose, the subproject focuses on (2) organizing and conducting dialogue forums and (3) publishing literature reviews relevant for the target group. To evaluate the effectiveness of technology, we develop (4) standardized measurement methods which will be made available via a digital platform to lecturers and other interested persons. The portal e-teaching.org serves as a platform to promote the exchange between researchers and practitioners and to disseminate scientific findings of the project.
"Digi-EBF" is a collaborative meta-project of the University of Duisburg-Essen, the German Institute for Adult Education (DIE), the Leibniz Institute for Research and Information in Education (DIPF), and the IWM. The meta-project addresses stakeholders in the fields of early childhood education, school education, adult education, vocational training, and teacher education. Central objectives of the meta-project are to summarize the current state of research regarding learning with technology, to compare the state of research with the results of the funding projects, to link the different actors in the fields of education, and to foster knowledge transfer between researchers and practitioners.
