The Department of Psychology of the Faculty of Science at Tübingen University and the independent Leibniz-Institut für Wissensmedien (IWM) invite applications for the position of

Full Professor (W3) of Applied Cognitive Psychology

The position is due to commence on April 1st, 2019.

A successful candidate is expected to carry out independent research and teaching in Applied Cognitive Psychology. The appointment will be split 50:50 between the independent Leibniz-Institut für Wissensmedien (IWM) and the Department of Psychology. The candidate will be both Head of a research group in the area of „Social use of knowledge media“ at the IWM and Head of the research field „Applied Cognitive Psychology“ at the Department of Psychology.

The successful candidate has an outstanding as well as an international research profile, and is expected to attract substantial research funding. In line with the cognitive psychology profile of both the IWM and the Department of Psychology, the candidate will be expected to conduct research in Applied Cognitive Psychology with a focus on knowledge, media, and communication (e.g. knowledge acquisition, knowledge transfer, knowledge construction with digital media for cooperation and communication).

The appointed candidate will be requested to teach classes in Applied Cognitive Psychology in the undergraduate and graduate programs in Psychology. Moreover, academic self-government at the university and the IWM is expected.

Requirements for appointment are professorship status or an equivalent qualification and proof of teaching excellence.
