Dr. Sergio Cervera Torres

Dr. Sergio Cervera Torres schloss 2017 sein Promotionsstudium in der Arbeitsgruppe Multimodale Interaktion des IWM ab. Hier untersuchte er die komplexe Dynamik der affektiven Verräumlichung im Bereich der Mensch-Computer-Interaktion (HCI). Seine Studien haben nicht nur die Grenzen des HCI-Wissens erweitert, sondern wurden 2021 auch mit einem Stipendium der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) ausgezeichnet, ein Beweis für die Anerkennung seiner wissenschaftlichen Bedeutung durch die wissenschaftliche Gemeinschaft.

Die bahnbrechende Arbeit von Dr. Torres hat das innovative Spatial Affective Interaction (SAI) Framework hervorgebracht. Dieses paradigmenverändernde Modell vereint drei zentrale Diskurse innerhalb der kognitiven und affektiven Wissenschaften: die modulierende Rolle räumlicher Dimensionen auf affektive Bewertungen, das Engagement von Handlungs-Ziel-Repräsentationen inmitten manueller Mensch-Maschine-Interaktionen und die nuancierten Auswirkungen von Handnähe auf die affektive Verarbeitung von digitalen Objekten.
Während seiner Forschungsreise hatte Dr. Torres die besondere Ehre, an Forschungsaufenthalten im eHealth-Sektor teilzunehmen. Er hat maßgeblich zur Gestaltung und analytischen Bewertung von Spitzentechnologien beigetragen, darunter mobile Anwendungen und immersive Virtual-Reality-Umgebungen. In seiner Arbeit untersucht er kritisch die Überschneidung von biometrischen Markern und Emotionsregulierung, kognitiven Exekutivprozessen und dem Spektrum der neurologischen Entwicklungsstörungen.
