Dr. Emely Hoch

Member of the Multiple Representations Lab

Emely Hoch has been a research associate at the IWM in the Multiple Representations lab since 2014. Initially, she worked in the project “Multimedia in the Classroom” that was funded by the German Research Foundation as part of the Research Unit “Analysis and Promotion of Effective Processes of Learning and Instruction”. She completed her dissertation in December 2018 and has been working as a postdoc in the same lab ever since. She is currently coordinating the research project “tabletBW trifft Wissenschaft funded by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of Baden-Württemberg in cooperation with the Hector Research Institute of Education Sciences and Psychology. Within this project, she is researching the question of whether and under what conditions tablets used in class can promote learning processes. Emely Hoch is an associated postdoc of the LEAD Graduate School and Research Network (Learning, Educational Achievement, and Life Course Development) at the University of Tübingen.


Emely Hoch studied psychology at the University of Tübingen (M.Sc. 2014) with a focus on Clinical Psychology as well as Knowledge, Communication and Media Psychology.  During her studies, she had already worked as a student assistant at the IWM.
