Seit Juni 2022 arbeitet Büsra Sarigül als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin und Doktorandin in der Arbeitsgruppe Alltagsmedien am IWM. In ihrer Forschung beschäftigt sie sich mit den Kommunikationsqualitäten sozialer Agenten im Kontext multimodaler Integration.
Büsra Sarigül studierte Psychologie (B.Sc. 2016) an der Universität Ankara. Sie schloss ihr Masterstudium in Interdisziplinärer Sozialpsychiatrie an derselben Universität im Jahr 2020 ab. In ihrer Masterarbeit untersuchte sie, wie das Aussehen von Robotern Vorhersagen prägt und ob diese Vorhersagen den Vorhersagen für Menschen ähneln. Während ihres Studiums war sie an verschiedenen Projekten als Forschungsassistentin an der Radboud University, der University of Amsterdam, der University of St Andrews und dem Goethe Institut beteiligt.
