Head of the Media Technology Department

Kurt Langenbacher is head of the Media Technology Department at the IWM. The responsibility of the Media Technology Department is to maintain, safeguard and extend according to need, the whole information technology (IT) system and the communication based thereupon, as well as to test new innovative IT techniques for suitability. Proper functioning and safety of IT processes are central to the operation of a research institute.
Kurt Langenbacher has been working at the IWM since its foundation. In 2003, he became head of the Media Technology Department.

Kurt Langenbacher studied Technical Informatics at Furtwangen University of Applied Sciences. He then worked in industry for several years until he joined the chair of Computer Architecture (Computer Science Department) of Prof. Dr. A. Zeil at the University of Tübingen in 1996.
