Member of Language and AI in Education lab

Walid El Hefny has been a research associate in the Language and AI in Education lab since January 2025. He is a member of the "AI2Teach" project, where he maintains the web-based intelligent tutoring system (FeedBook) used for teaching English as a foreign language. He is a PhD candidate interested in developing machine learning models and analyzing logging data to predict student performance in an intelligent tutoring system for adaptivity purposes.

Walid El Hefny studied Computer Science and Engineering (B.Sc. 2018; M.Sc. 2022) at the German University in Cairo. He worked as a teaching assistant and researcher for four years. Later, he joined the Computational Linguistics department at the University of Tübingen as a research associate for around two years.
