2025-06-10 | Dr. Maren Mayer accepted into the Leibniz Association's mentoring

Dr. Maren Mayer, postdoctoral researcher in the Knowledge Construction lab, has been accepted into the Leibniz Association's mentoring. The competitive format is aimed at excellent female postdoctoral researchers who are on their way to a management position or professorship.
The psychologist researches collaborative knowledge construction according to the so-called Wikipedia principle: one person starts with a contribution that can be supplemented, improved or maintained by others. Using a combination of experimental studies and cognitive modelling, she investigates how collective knowledge is created, how it changes and which cognitive mechanisms it is subject to - a research programme that convinced the selection committee.
‘I hope that the Leibniz Mentoring will bring buzzwords such as strategic career planning and the compatibility of an academic career and family to life, so that I ultimately know more precisely how I can best prepare myself and my career,’ says Maren Mayer.
The Leibniz Association's multifaceted mentoring enables female scientists to manage their careers in a targeted manner, further expand their professional networks and confidently take on leadership roles. Participants benefit not only from a structured and individually supported mentoring partnership, but also from a comprehensive seminar programme and professional process support, which ensures that what they have learned can be sustainably anchored in their everyday professional lives.
