Stellvertretende Leiterin der Arbeitsgruppe Multimodale Interaktion
Birgit Brucker ist stellvertretende Leiterin der Arbeitsgruppe Multimodale Interaktion und wissenschaftliche Koordinatorin des Mixed Reality Labors und des Multi-Touch Labors im Future Innovation Space am IWM. Zu ihren Forschungsschwerpunkten zählen die Gestaltung und der Einsatz innovativer Interaktionsmedien (wie beispielsweise virtuelle Realitäten und Multi-Touch-Tische) um das Verständnis in unterschiedlichen Inhaltsdomänen (naturwissenschaftliche Zusammenhänge und Bewegungsabläufe, sowie künstlerisch-musische Fächer) zu unterstützen. Dabei beschäftigt sie sich mit Fragestellungen, die adressieren, welche Rolle das Spiegelneuronensystem beim Lernen spielt oder welchen Einfluss die Nähe der Hände zu den dargebotenen Informationen für die Informationsverarbeitung hat. Darüber hinaus erforscht sie die Potentiale und Risiken Künstlicher Intelligenz (KI) im Rahmen KI-unterstützter Schreibszenarien (z. B. Nutzung von ChatGPT beim kreativen und wissenschaftlichen Schreiben).
Birgit Brucker studierte Psychologie (Diplom 2007) an der Eberhard-Karls Universität Tübingen, wo sie 2012 auch promovierte. In ihrer Promotion beschäftigte sie sich mit dem Einsatz statischer und dynamischer Visualisierungen zur Unterstützung des Verständnisses für dynamische naturwissenschaftliche Zusammenhänge.
