Stellvertretende Leiterin der Arbeitsgruppe Multimodale Interaktion
Birgit Brucker ist stellvertretende Leiterin der Arbeitsgruppe Multimodale Interaktion. Zu ihren Forschungsschwerpunkten zählen der Einsatz statischer und dynamischer Visualisierungen zur Unterstützung des Verständnisses für naturwissenschaftliche Zusammenhänge und Bewegungsabläufe und die Rolle, die das Spiegelneuronensystem dabei spielt. Darüber hinaus beschäftigt sie sich mit der Entwicklung und dem Einsatz innovativer Interaktionsmedien (wie beispielsweise Multi-Touch-Tischen oder virtuellen Realitäten) und dem Einfluss, den die Nähe der Hände zu den dargebotenen Informationen für die Informationsverarbeitung spielt. Im April 2012 schloss sie ihre Promotion ab.
Birgit Brucker studierte Psychologie an der Eberhard-Karls Universität Tübingen (Diplom 2007) mit den Schwerpunkten Pädagogische- und Medienpsychologie und Arbeits- und Organisationspsychologie. Während ihres Studiums arbeitete sie als wissenschaftliche Hilfskraft am IWM und in der Abteilung Angewandte Kognitionspsychologie und Medienpsychologie des Psychologischen Instituts der Universität Tübingen sowie als Praktikantin bei der Daimler AG, Stuttgart, Bereich Forschung und Technologie/"MMI-Konzepte und Systeme"/ "MMI-Konzepte und Evaluation".
